Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) – FY 2025 Public Hearing – Riverside Village Infrastructure Improvement Project
The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Enterprise Authority will hold a public hearing to receive comments and questions regarding the tribe’s proposed application for the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Program. The proposed project will continue infrastructure improvements at Riverside Village Trailer Park by replacing aging water, sewer, and electrical systems to provide safe, reliable, and code-compliant housing conditions for families living in the community.

Project Background: Phase I improvements on C-Row were funded through the federal Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund (LATCF), resulting in modernized utilities and new homes for families. Phase II will continue these improvements on additional rows, based on resident input and infrastructure priorities. The tribe intends to request approximately $2,000,000 in ICDBG funding for infrastructure construction and project administration.
All comments received will be considered in finalizing the ICDBG grant application, which is planned for submission to HUD by Nov. 24, 2025.
