DeMawating Development is a property management company organized as an economic enterprise under the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. DeMawating supports the Tribe’s broader goals of self-sufficiency, economic growth, employment opportunities, and quality housing within the communities it serves.

DeMawating Development offers a variety of rental options, including furnished and unfurnished studio apartments and one-bedroom apartments in Sault Ste. Marie. DeMawating also manages residential homes in Cedarville, Naubinway, St. Ignace, Hessel, Sault Ste. Marie, and Kincheloe.

Rental availability, rates, lease terms, and unit features may vary by property. Most pets are accepted with a non-refundable pet fee, which varies by property. Month-to-month leases are available.

Eligibility is based on a credit check, rental history, criminal background check, and employment or income verification. Application fees may apply for individuals over 18 years of age.

DeMawating Development has staff available to assist tenants, including maintenance support for eligible property needs.
