In cases following the substantiated investigation of child abuse or neglect where the decision is made that children can be maintained safely in the home, ACFS will provide Family Continuity - Voluntary Services that focus on the safety and risk issues identified during the CPS investigation. Time-limited services are targeted to individual child and family needs. Among the typical services that are provided are crisis intervention, family counseling, parenting and other skills training, respite care, housing location assistance, child development, child day care and behavior management, along with concrete services such as emergency assistance for food, utilities, clothes, medicine, and community-related resource referrals.

Family Continuity is an intensive home-based program with a mandated minimum weekly face-to-face contact with the family.
