After serving on the Tribal Board as Unit I representative since 2004 I was humbled to be appointed as the Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Chairman in August 2011.

I'd like to thank the entire board for their vote of confidence in me. I truly appreciate it. I'd also like to thank Lana for her service over the past few months. Lana, you did a terrific job. Given the difficulty of the task, you handled everything very well.

During my short time in this new role, I would like to focus on igniting the membership and the board to bring them closer together than they have been in the past. As soon as I can, I plan to meet with my fellow board members and schedule an opportunity to attend one of their unit meetings. I really believe it is important for our leadership to be out visiting our membership, staff and facilities. We have to keep open lines of communication between each other in order to succeed. Please keep an eye out for dates these will be scheduled either in my report, the Sault Tribe web site or Facebook page.
