Feeding America West Michigan is scheduled to bring 12 Mobile Food Pantries to the Big Bear Arena in Sault Ste. Marie in 2024. Mobile Pantries are like farmers markets on wheels that provide supplemental groceries—including produce, protein, dairy, grains and more—to anyone in need at no charge. The Mobile Food Pantries are scheduled for:

Jan. 11,
Feb. 8,
March 14,
April 11,
May 9,
June 13,
July 11,
Aug. 8,
Sept. 12,
Oct. 10,
Nov. 7, and
Dec.12.

Attendees will not be asked to show identification or proof of income to receive food; however, they will be required to provide basic contact information and affirm their need for food (in need of emergency food; household meets income guidelines; participate in SNAP, WIC, FDPIR, CSFP, or SSI).

Attendees may pick up food as a proxy (stand-in) for up to two households per vehicle. They will need to have in writing the name, address, and household size (including how many children, senior citizens/elders, and veterans) of any other family they are picking up food for.

Location: Big Bear Arena, 2 Ice Circle Chi Mukwa, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Volunteer arrival time: 3 p.m. Attendee arrival time: 3 p.m. Distribution time: 4-6 p.m.

When traveling to the Mobile Food Pantry, all traffic should take 3 Mile Road, turn onto Shunk Road, and TURN RIGHT onto Bahweting Drive. Do not block driveways. When departing the Mobile Food Pantry distribution, all traffic will turn RIGHT.
