Multicultural Poetry Slam

Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3 p.m.
Niigaanagiizhik Ceremonial Building

Soo resident, poet, writer, and Sault Tribe member Al Boulley will be performing one hour of his works. He brings a range of subjects to the microphone for your listening pleasure, including some inspired by Ojibwe culture. As a special treat, his dad Henry is going to read something in the Ojibwe language.

There will be a 15-minute intermission once Al is done. Finger foods—both savory and sweet—will be available, as will various beverages. Free of course! Afterward, the mic’s open to anyone who would like to share some of their written works. Don’t be shy, bring something to read! Please give the audience more to enjoy!

If you’d like to reserve time on the open mic, you can call Al at 906‑203‑5237, or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. There's a Facebook event too, if you want to easily add this to your calendar https://www.facebook.com/events/1482624288464987/. Hope you can attend—the material will be "family-friendly" so bring your children if you'd like. Maybe they'll get inspired to write something!
