Seeking OCmmunity Research graphic

Sault Tribe members 18 and older are being sought to join a Community Research Council that will guide a new research study on the links between food sovereignty practices such as hunting, fishing, foraging, and gardening and Type 2 Diabetes.

Researchers are seeking adult Sault Tribe members with a range of experiences, for example: living with or supporting someone with Type 2 Diabetes; involvement in tribal food systems, nutrition, or food sovereignty efforts; and an interest in community health and well-being.

Council members can expect to meet monthly to guide and provide feedback on a community-based participatory research project. An honorarium will be provided for each
meeting.
