Biboon Miinkaanesnsan (Seeds) Gatherings
Join us to process and package local seed relatives, swap seeds with other gardeners and learn/plan for the season to come. Seeds and traditional food gifts for all who attend. We will have Bear Island Flint Corn (an Ojibwe variety) available. These gatherings are in partnership with Sault Tribe so one is here at farm and the second is in the Soo - anyone can attend either or both. Please contact Kat at (906) 322-1864 so we have a headcount for a traditional foods meal provided and the local food gifts we will be giving away.

Join us for this monthly gathering and potluck to share food, stories and traditional knowledge. Fingers crossed we will be enjoying some wabooz naboob (rabbit soup) before getting hands-on and checking some snares at the farm. Don't worry if you don't have time to make something for the potluck—we always have more than enough! No pre-registration required.

Ziinzibaakwad Workshop

Join us to learn about canning maple syrup and making maple confections including maple cream, maples sugar and maple candies. Guest instructor Joe VanAlstine from Midewigaan Provisions. Lunch is provided. We won't be going into traditional teachings, tapping, collecting and boiling down as Bucko and Jesse in Bay Mills Culture already offer that education for the community and BMCC classes.
