SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. —A regular meeting of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors will be held at the Sault Kewadin Casino Grand Island Room, starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1. The meeting will be preceded by “Matters Raised by the Membership” from 4 to 5 p.m.

Starting at this meeting, June 1, the meeting is again open to the Membership. Members can attend the meeting in person or via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided on the Sault Tribe website. Matters Raised by the Membership starts at 4 p.m. Membership can participate either in person, or via Zoom. The Membership forms are available online at www.saulttribe.com and will be available at the 4 p.m. time slot.

If the number of members in attendance are more than what is allowed in the room, meeting rooms will change. Social distancing and face mask may be required.

The meetings will continue to be available through livestream and Zoom until July 6, when we will switch over to only Zoom.

Resolutions on the agenda are, under Budget Modifications: Elder Care Services, Manistique Dental, Health Sault Laboratory, Gov’t Purchases Shipping/Receiving and DeMawating Enterprises Capital Outlays; Trust Land Lease – Clement; U.S. Dept. of Treasurer – Homeowner Assistance Fund; Contract – Edwards; Tribal Community Response Plan and Child Protection Background Check Exception.

Under New Business, the board will consider Key Employee, Tribal Community Pool Development Committee and Board Concerns.
