The USDA Forest Service is seeking preliminary input for the upcoming McNearney Vegetation Management Project, which will address vegetation management on National Forest System lands on the Sault Ste Marie Ranger District.

A project open house will be hosted by the US Forest Service on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Superior Township Hall, 7049 South M-221, Brimley, Mich. Forest Service personnel will be on hand to answer questions and accept comments.

"We may utilize information gathered during this open house to help us develop the proposed action," said Acting District Ranger, Micah Reuber.

He reminded the public that in keeping with the National Environmental Policy Act, additional formal public participation will occur after the proposed action is developed.

Public input is most valuable if it is within the scope of the project area, is specific, has direct relationship to the project, and includes supporting reasons.

Alternatively, send hard copy comments to Acting District Ranger Micah Reuber, USFS, c/o McNearney Project, W1900  US 2, St. Ignace, MI 49781. Or fax to 906‑643‑8759 or TTY711.
