Sault 2023 PowwowSault Tribe Language and Culture Division Baaweting Homecoming Powwow June 30‑July 2, 2023, at the tribe’s powwow grounds off Shunk Road on Ice Circle in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

Thursday, June 29 and Friday, June 30 Summer Ceremonial Gathering with Sunrise Ceremony. Tribal Assembly also Thursday to Friday. Times TBA.

Grand entry Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m.
Grand entries on Saturday, July 1, at 1 and 7 p.m.
Grand entry on Sunday, July 2, at noon.

Honorarium for dancers in full regalia.
Spot dances and dance specials announced throughout weekend.

Dance Contest Specials:
Adult Traditional, Fancy, Grass and Jingle
Combined style categories for Golden Age, Teens, and Juniors
Tiny tots special-all are winners
Registration $10 Adult dancers, $5 for Teens and Juniors.

Drum Competition:
Must have five singers present at all sessions
Registration $10 per singer
Drum Split for non-competing drums
Registration opens Friday, closes at noon on Saturday.

Host Drum and Head Dancers: picked each session.

No drugs, alcohol, politics, or dogs allowed.

Vendors: Beginning June 28, vendors this year are welcome to set up early for the Sault Tribe Grand Assembly, a showcase for tribal members of all the programs, services, and businesses the Tribe offers. We are honoring 50 years of Tribal Recognition and the effort of the previous generation to regain what was rightfully ours. Pre-Applications required. For application, call 906‑203‑6085 or 906‑203‑6382 and it will be emailed to you.
