Aaniin/Boozhoo, everyone! We in the Sault Tribe Language and Culture Department are excited to introduce one of several of our new programs this week. Starting Thursday, July 22, 2021, we will be hosting our Young Men's (Oshkaabewis) Teachings Group every other week on Thursday evenings, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Niigaanagiizhik Ceremonial Building in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

This group is focused on our boys and young men from 12 years of age to 18 years of age. Elders and pipe carriers will be passing on teachings during each evening the group meets. Participants will learn about coming of age, fire keeping, drumming, ceremonial responsibilities, Indigenous pride and identity, respecting our women and many other traditional Anishinaabe life ways.
