SUMMARY:Bill Morrison Shooshiimaan Championship
DTSTAMP:20260412T130638Z
DESCRIPTION:Bill Morrison Shooshiimaan Championship March 8 The reboot date for the annual Bill Morrison Shooshiimaan Championship is Friday, March 8, beginning at 9 a.m. at Joseph K. Lumsden Bahweting School Public School Academy, 1301 Marquette Ave. in Sault Ste. Marie. Weather and track conditions should be the best on that day, so we are expecting a great championship for our fifth grade students who have worked hard on their shooshiimaans this year. As in the past, a round-robin format narrows the field down to the top three from each of the fifth grade classes. We include an at-large entry at times to round the field to 10, but this depends on the distances for that day. The championship round has the top competitors battling it out for overall champion, with an awards presentation immediately following.  Families and the community are welcome to come and watch the competition. Once the championship is over spectators are welcome to try a shooshiimaan for themselves. Any visitors must check in at the office.
