Gathering of the Eagles Hessel Powwow, Aug. 16‑18
The 27th Gathering of the Eagles Hessel Powwow is set for Friday through Sunday, Aug. 16‑18, at the Hessel powwow grounds, next to the Hessel Kewadin Casino.

Head veteran, Nick VanAlstine; arena director, Bud Biron; co-masters of ceremonies, Joe Medicine and Josh Homminga; spiritual advisor, John Causley; fire keeper, Andrew Causley; host drum, Mukwa Giizhik; co-host drum to be announced; head dancers, Debra-Ann Pine and Chris Hall; head youth dancers, Tyler Bedell and Kendraya Teeple.
 
Friday, Aug. 16—Spiritual gathering at 3 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 17—Grand entries at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., feast at 5 p.m.

Sunday, Aug.18—Grand entry at noon. *Raffle drawing at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 or three for $10. All proceeds benefit the Hessel powwow. Need not be present to win. License number STR-004-19. Tickets available by calling Charlee Brissette at 906‑630‑3082.
