Warrior Camp Begins

This year’s 2018 Ogitchidaa Bimaadiziwin Kinoomaagewin Warrior Camp is on July 25‑28, 2018. Attendance is free and open to young boys aged 12-16 from federally recognized tribes and first nations.

Hosted by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians Cultural Division and the Traditional Medicine Program.
 
Participants learn traditional knowledge and skills based on traditional warrior society lessons in spirituality, natural life skills, healthful living, physical activities and leadership skills.

Camp has 24-hour adult supervision, dorm style sleeping and all meals provided.

Sponsored in part by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians and the JKL Fiduciary Committee.

Completed applications need to be sent in by mail, fax or hand and received by the Cultural Division by 5 p.m. on July 6, 2018. Applications processed in order of when received. Letters of acceptance will be received in the mail by July 12, 2018, with all the additional details for camp for selected participants.
