Families Against Narcotics (FAN) of Chippewa County to host the sixth annual Community Awareness Night Oct. 23, the evening prior to Chippewa County Health Department’s Fall Summit at LSSU. FAN will present Amy Buchanan, a former school administrator, who will speak about her experience with severe Substance Use Disorder. Amy now devotes her time to bringing awareness to what exactly substance use disorder is, helping end the stigma of addiction with her personal story, a true real time nightmare until she was able to get help.
FAN will also have Narcan kits for those willing to do a brief training with Safe Exchange coordinator Mary Miller.
If you know anyone who is affected in some way by SUD in their own lives or that of a friend or loved one, please share information about this event.
There is no cost to attend. Refreshments provided.
