Sault Tribe’s services, facilities and postponed events during COVID-19 pandemic

Untitled 1Due to the continuing presence of COVID-19 cases across the tribe’s seven-county service area, Sault Tribe continues to ask staff and the public to practice social distancing and wash their hands often. Masks are required in tribal health clinics. Plans will be updated as needed. Miigwech.

Notice of Special Advisory Election

The Election Committee of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians would like to inform you that a SPECIAL ADVISORY ELECTION will be held for the currently vacant Chairperson’s seat to occur immediately. Attached are important dates and information.

Notice of Special Election 2022

Youth living within the seven-county service area may request funding for a variety of purposes outside of tribal programs including:

• Sports Fees (registration, equipment, shoes)
• Music, dance or theatre lessons
• Instrument purchase and rental
• Language lessons
• Camps (sports, band, art academic) and related travel fees
• Educations, cultural and class trips
• Testing fees
• Driver’s Education
• Senior pictures
• School supplies and book deposits (Clothing not included)
• Regalia and youth drum

All applications must include the following information:

1. Completed application
2. Copy of Students Tribal Card (expired cards not accepted)
3. Proof of household income for all adults living in the home
4. Invoice, registration, or brochure/literature with organizations name address and cost or receipt of payment
5. Form W-9
