Transit Planning Input Needed!

Sault Tribe received a $25,000 Tribal Transit Planning grant through the Federal Transit Administration. This money is being used to conduct a public tribal transit feasibility study/needs assessment for Chippewa County. The tribe has contracted with a professional consultant, The Corradino Group, to conduct the study and compile a report for the tribe. The report will give the tribe the necessary planning tools needed before making a decision as to whether or not to pursue future transit grants and invest in public transportation. (A study plan and schedule is attached.)

On Thursday, June 17, the tribe will hold three public input sessions at the times and locations below:

8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Kewadin Casino Art Gallery, Shunk Road, Sault Ste. Marie

11 a.m. -1 p.m. Sault Tribe Health Center Lobby, 2864 Ashmun Street, Sault Ste. Marie

5 -7 p.m. Sault Tribe Housing Authority Office, 154 Parkside, Kincheloe

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please send in your comment card by June 18. In early June, a detailed questionnaire will be mailed out to Sault Tribe members residing in Chippewa County.
