It’s easy! Just vote!

The Manistique Farmers’ Market is an amazing partnership between the community and the Sault Tribe SAH project. The Manistique Farmers’ Market has held nine markets so far this season and is averaging almost 300 people per market. There are 12-13 vendors most weeks, who have been selling baked goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, chicken, beef, fresh fish, herbs, honey, jams, even wheat berries, and they accept Project FRESH coupons.

Next week is National Farmers’ Market week and we will be celebrating our farmers and our patrons with some special events at the market on Aug. 10.

Manistique has overtaken first place in the nation in the America’s Favorite Farmers’ Market Contest in our category (“boutique markets,” 15 or fewer vendors). We need more votes to bring a win to Manistique — voting continues through Aug. 31 and we need to stay in top spot.

The farmers’ market in Rockford, Mich., is in first place in the small category in the same contest. Rockford contacted us this week about working together to help bring a double win to the state of Michigan!

Rockford is launching a promotion project this week called, “Win One for Rockford. Win Two for Michigan,” in which they are encouraging their supporters to cast a vote for Manistique. We will be doing the same thing here with, “Win One for Manistique. Win Two for Michigan,” encouraging our supporters to vote for Rockford.

Vote for Manistique at http://miniurl.org/manistiquefm and vote for Rockford at http://miniurl.org/rockfordfm. One vote per market per email address.
