From Sault Tribe Chairperson Aaron Payment:

The Lake Superior State University Upward Bound Program has NOT been notified of continued funding under new the U.S. Presidential Administration. Discontinued funding would have a drastic impact and take effect immediately, so the planned summer session slated to begin in just weeks, would be cancelled.

LSSU UB Alumni and families are mobilizing to urge legislators to intervene.

Thursday, 6:30 p.m. – Rally at Brady Hall on the LSSU Campus to show support. Please arrive by 6:00 p.m. at the Brady Hall front steps facing Canada. Alumni will share ideas of what you can do to help save our UB. Save our UB signs will be distributed.

Friday, 8:30 a.m. – Demonstration of Support to Legislators. Two locations to show our visiting Congressional Delegation we care. We will have signs. This is a peaceful demonstration of support with one message—SAVE OUR UB!
