The Rosemary Gaskin Memorial Scholarship was established to honor and carry on Rosemary’s leadership and good works. Students compete for a $1000 scholarship by writing a 500 word essay focusing on Native American rights, education issues, racial or gender equality issues or reviving native culture/traditional beliefs.

Eligibility extends to Sault Tribe members who attend a public institution of higher education full or part-time. Not need based and minimum blood quantum does not apply.

To apply, write or submit a 500 word essay, include a copy of tribal identification card, return address, phone number, school attending and degree.

Deadline is Sept. 30.
