SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - A regular meeting of the Sault Tribe Board of Directors will be held at the Hessel Tribal Center at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 25, postponed from Nov. 18 due to severe winter weather. The meeting will be preceded by "Matters Raised by the Membership" from 5 to 6:00 p.m.
Resolutions on the agenda are: Budget: Gov't -EPA GLRI, Gov't-Quality Assurance, Office on Violence Against Women, Civil Legal Assistance, and Adult Incarceration; Am. Ch. 30: Child Welfare Code; Request for Litigation Support McKay Bay; Opposing Nuclear Waste Facility Lake Huron; Modifying 401(k) Plan; Reaffirm Sault Tribe Newspaper Space Policy; Establish Sault Tribe as My Brother's Keeper Tribe; Discussion/Referral to Appropriate Committee/Follow up: 1. Roll Closure Suspended for 90 Days, 2. Est. Unit 3 Mackinac Island Elders Subcommittee, 3. Constitutional Amend. Clarify Status Mac Band, and 4. Constitutional Amendment Establishing Unit 6 and, Adding the Western U.P. to Election Units 4 and 5; and Amend Ch. 70: Criminal Procedure.
