Matched savings program to assist low-income families save for a home

Held jointly by the participant and STHA at a partner financial institution

Participant contributions are matched 2:1 up to $1,600 per year

Funds are not available for early withdrawal

Eligibility:

  • Annual household income within eligible range
  • Annual income at least $15,000
  • Residents of the 7 County Service Area (Upper Peninsula)

Other Requirements:

  • Save at least $70.00 per month while in program
  • Attend a series of personal finance and money managment workshops
  • Remain in program for at least two years
  • Willing to participate in on-going peer support groups
  • Savings and match may only be used toward the purchase of a home
