 The Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians holds a number of pow wows across our service area.  The following page was designed to improve communication to the members and also the general public on when our annual pow wows are held.  You will also find contact information for each pow wow.  Chi Miigwetch for visiting our pow wow page.

  • 6th Annual Gathering of the Clans Powwow

          June 9-10 at the Manistique Tribal Community    

      Center on US-2 next to the Kewadin Casino. Grand 

      entries are Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at  

      noon. There will be a crazy auction Saturday

      after the feast. Vendors, traders or the public can call

  • Rendezvous at the Straits St. Ignace Powwow 

August  25th & 26th at the New France Discovery Center at the Father Marquette National Memorial, St. Ignace. Experience life when Native Americans and French Traders lived in harmony along the Straits of Mackinac!
Friday will be the Blessing of the grounds at 1 p.m. and Contemporary Native music at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Grand Entry is at 1 p.m.  Native artists, dancing, food, demonstrations, historic reenactments and much more!

  • The Rendezvous is open to the public. Admission: $3 for adults, $2 for elders and students, children under the age of 12 are free. This is a family event and is alcohol and drug free. 

    The Rendezvous is being sponsored by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the St. Ignace Chamber Of Commerce, and the Michilimackinac Historical Society. For more information, contact the St. Ignace Events Committee at (906) 643-8717 or Darryl Brown at 984-2083.
