International Bridge Walk

Young and old, physically fit or fitness challenged, all enjoy the fantastic views and the resultant pictures that last a lifetime. Best of all, there’s no admission fee, no long waits and no sweltering heat to contend with, since the walk steps off June 24 at 9:30 a.m., LSSU Norris Center, 650 W. Easterday Ave. in Sault Ste. Marie. Not up to the walk? Join the bike parade that leaves LSSU at 8:30 a.m.

Sponsored by the International Bridge Authority and the Chamber of Commerce from both cities. Organizers remind walkers to bring a passport or other approved identification. Contact the Sault Ste. Marie Area Chamber of Commerce for more details at 632-3301.

Walkers must have transportation to get back across the bridge; you cannot walk back. Bus transportation is available to bring walkers from the yard on Huron St. in Sault, Ontario back to the starting point for $4 per person. Visitors will find plenty to do back on the Michigan side, with a full offering of museums, boat tours, beaches, parks and more open to the public. For more information, please contact the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce at 906‑632‑3301 or visit https://www.facebook.com/SSMbridgewalk/.

The International Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic during this event.
